I am looking for more information on Johannes Eirikson and Anna Olavsdatter Loftas:

Anna (1820-1820)
Anna (1822-1899)
Synneve (1825-1850)
Olav (1827-1861)
Eirik (1829-1910)
Askjell (1832-1909)
Sjur (1835-1885)
Lars (1839-1912)
Ivar (1843-1912)
Johannes (1841-)

-Would their surname be Halland, Rodland, Solberg? Family recordes indicate that the younger children used Solberg.
-Which church records should I start with? Haus, Haus Gjerstad ??

This information would help me get started.

It seems to me that you should tell us a little more about the persons you are looking for:

Are Johannes Eirikson and Anna Olavsdatter Loftas (probably Loftaas) the parents, and the other 10 persons their children? And is it so, these people were living in Osterøy, and is it possible to say more precisely where they were living?

To me it seems that Halland may be misspelled for HATLAND, and Rodland should be RØDLAND. If you take a look at the link

and choose Hordaland (fylke) you’ll find let’s say the 1865 cencus, and some church records, for the three most likely “kommuner” in Osterøy at that time, that is

1250 Arna (Haus)

1253 Hosanger

1254 Hamre.

As far as I know, Rodland (Rødland) should be Haus, and Hatland and Solberg should be Gjerstad as to the church records. I’m not quite sure whether the last two should be Hosanger or Hamre as to the census, but hopefully my information may get you a little further with your studies.

Yes, Johannes and Anna are the parents and the list below them is their children. I think they remained in Rodland but I am not sure. Sjur, my husbands great-grandfather moved to Solberg. I am looking for marriages and children of the children of Johannes and Anna. I have looked in Haus and will look in Hosanger and Hamre.
