I am seeking information on a Helene or Helena Thorsdtr. that came from Randaberg. She married a Palle Ommundsen from Revhem. I am trying to find someone with the Bygdebok for Randaberg but can't seem to find anyone. I have the information on her husband but can't get a good source for her.

sorry. sometimes I am in such a hurry to post that I forget to put the dates. Well, She had a child with Palle Omundsen in 1806. He was born in 1783 in Revhem. Another person found her daughter Pernille Pallesdtr. birth record in Stavanger Domkirkken.

Actually, the only one I found in Rogaland (searching for everyone with name starting on Helen and familyname on T . She might be a candidate?

I found one in Stavanger that could be worth looking at:

But the namer is Elen Thorsdtr and 23 years old in 1801. I can see that Pernille is a "Uekte barn" (mother and father not married).

Maybe you already found the answer, but a likely candidate is (Anna)Helene Toresdtr. Randaberg (Randaberg bygdebok p 284) daughter of Tore Olsson born 1747 at Madla and Anna Helena Toresdtr born at Hetland in Riska. In the 1801 census her name is Helena. Unfortunately there is an error in the Randaberg bygdebok as she is also named daughter of the neighbour Tore Johannesson Randaberg and Anna Torgersdtr. Interestingly enough, Palle Ommundson in 1818 married their daughterAnna Johanna Toresdtr( widow of Kleng Bjørnson). They had no children, and she died in 1840. According to bygdebok for Madla, Helena Torsdtr married Andreas Eliasson from Sør Sunde Oct 31 1808. They had 8 children (Elias, Tore, Anna Helena,Anna Karina, Enok, Kristina, Andreas and Tønnes) but no mention of Pernille in either bygdebok. regards

On further examination of the church records, I believe it is most likely that Helene Thorsdatter is the daughter of Tore Johannesson Randaberg and Anna Torgersdtr. Baptising of Pernille took place in Stavanger 19.september 1806 with Ane Torgersdtr as godmother(Helenes mother). Further sponsors were Eivind Eivindson Randaberg (Helenes stepfather, as Tore Johannesson died 1789), Peder Ellingsen Sande(Randaberg), Anne Olsdtr Harestad (Randaberg) and Ingeborg Thorsdtr (presumably Helene's sister). Palle Omundsen Rewem was named father of the child. It is presumably the same Helene Thorsdtr that was married to her cousin Andreas Eliasson (Sør) Sunde 30th october 1808. Best men at the wedding were Elias Tasta and Sven Torgersen Sunde, and you will find several of Helene's relatives as sponsors at the baptizing of several of her later children.
Helenes sister Berta Torsdtr was married 1805 to Palle Omundsen's brother Elling Omundson, and Palle in 1818 married another of Helene's sisters Anna Johanna Thorsdtr.
In the 1801 census for the Randaberg farms two Helena Thorsdtr are mentioned : one aged 14 is the daughter of Thore Olsen Randaberg and Anna (Helena)Torsdtr, the other aged 20 is mentioned as servant with another neighpour (Jørgen Larsen Randaberg). This may be the daughter of Tore Johanneson. In the 1865 census Helene (now widow of Andreas Eliasson) is 82 years old. Curiously, in the 1835 census another Helene(born 1781) appears as servant in the household at Randaberg of Palle Omundsen and Anna Johanna Torsdtr. If you are by now confused, you are in good company, as the author of bygdebok for Madla (page 314) consider Helene to be the daughter of Tore Olsson Randaberg, while the author of bygdebok for Randaberg consider her to be the daughter of both Tore Olsson Randaberg (p.284) and Tore Johannesson Randaberg (p.287). regards
